Sputnik7’s 3D recreation of the Barcience Castle in Toledo, Spain made it into SketchFab’s “Most Popular on Sketchfab’s” Top 10 this week! We are pleased to see that our work is being recognized as leading the market in cutting edge quality on the number one site for 3d models.
You can view the Barcience Castle model here in 3D and in VR here
The castle was shot using two different drones, and a total of 557 images were captured over 3 shoots. We used a DJI Phantom 4 RTK for the oblique photos, it has amazing positional accuracy due to its use of RTK GPS technology. We then used a DJI Mavic 2 PRO for circular and close up shots, it excels at photography due to its large 1” CMOS lens and high quality Hasselblad camera.
The photos were processed using Pix4D Model, after which polygon reduction and tuning was done using Zbrush to create the final 3D model. It was then posted to Sketchfab for online access. We will post a complete breakdown on the project so you can see how it was done and the process we used!
